Fun commercial, hysterical actor - piece of junk sent. *sigh*
I can't believe that the Husband actually ordered that thing! He used it once and said "did you know how much cat hair was on the stairs????"
Now...it's not working so good.
Anyone who's surprised, raise your hand.....
*looks around*
Didn't think so.
I guess if you don't use it often, it might be okay.... I'm not sure.
All I know is I'm not impressed with it. Maybe our kittehs have too much fur????

My Jets game experience
Wow.
That's all I can say - wow! Nah - not really. You know me better than that.
Watching it on TV is nothing like seeing it live. I got to go with The Husband to a game on Sunday, and the Jets won 5-1 over the Colorado Avalanche.
I'm not a die hard statistician, so I won't give an in depth analysis there. If you want that, find a sports blog. :) If you want my quick run through - keep reading.
The night started out with a decent meal and a ride to the MTS Centre. Since I'm a dizzy blonde (literally! more on that later) I sniffed out the elevators to the third floor. We shared the elevator with Zach Bogosian. That was pretty cool. I was like "so that's Zach Bogosian, eh?". The Husband kept peeking at him like a love sick schoolgirl. His words, not mine! LOL
In the first period, no scoring happened. The roughing call was the most excitement, and a bad penalty to take. Luckily they killed it off with no scoring .
The second period - it picked up a little.... well, 3 goals on 8 shots picked up! How the Jets scored 3 goals on 8 shots, I don't know. I just know that it was a fun game to watch.
When the Avalanche scored, you could almost hear a pin drop from the Jets fans. You could hear a low "noooo" from all of us. But - it was the only one they got, so we're okay.
Third period scoring was all Jets. They scored two more. What can I say? It was a good night.
The best goal of the night came from Wellwood in the second period - with the wraparound that snuck by Varlamov. It was awesome - you could hear the entire arena holding our breath until we saw the referee pointing to the net. Then, we almost blew the roof off the place! For the next day my throat hurt from hollering - 5 goals is a lot of yelling, I tell you!
The only downside - a yutz a few seats down has a cowbell that he hits with a drumstick. He almost ate it.

GO JETS GO
It just occurred to me that I haven't posted about the Winnipeg Jets!
WOOHOO! They won again tonight, and actually have a shot at the playoffs. Every time I write that word, I hear Jim Mora with the playoffs rant. "playoffs, don't talk about playoffs....you kidding me - Playoffs?????" pretty funny
anyway - the announcement about the Jets was made in late May of last year. You should have heard the city - they lost their minds. It was awesome!
then they announced the season ticket drive... the city had to sell 15000 seats in 6 weeks to show we were serious about this team, and that they could be viable in Winnipeg. First, the current Manitoba Moose ticket holders got their choice. That sold over half of the tickets available, in about 3 days. The sale to the general public was on Saturday June 4. All during that week, there was talk about how we have to sell those tickets - if we don't, Winnipeg may not be a viable city after all.
There was a lot of doom and gloom from the sports folks that weren't in Winnipeg. Even us Winnipeggers were wondering if we could do it.
Tickets went on sale at noon on the 4th...and were sold out by 12:02.
neener neener neeener SO THERE NHL!
And now - the MTS Centre is known as the loudest and most raucous arena in the NHL. We love our Jets, and raise the roof to prove it!
The Husband and I holler every time they score, and mah kittehs freak out every time...

when it's cold, you need blankets
Hand made ones of course!
I just finished crocheting myself a new afghan. I had one, but it's in Christmas colors and has fringe, which kept getting run over by my computer chair.
I was in the craft store in early January - and they had three shades purple just begging to be made into blanket for me. I LOVE PURPLE!
I bought it and started crocheting. I used to use a 5.0mm hook, but it took so long that I got smart and started using a 10.00mm hook with two strands. It only took me a few weeks to make the blanket, and that was not even focusing exclusively. I could make one in about 3 weeks if I had to.
I tried to take a picture using my webcam, but it came out blue. I'll try with my camera and see what I get in a few days.
If you want one, email me or comment. I'll warn you up front - they're NOT cheap. If all you want is a blanket, go to Wal-Mart. If you want a nice, handmade blanket, contact me. You can choose up to 4 colors, and if you want fringe or not.

Avenue Q - after the show
We went to see Avenue Q on Saturday.
I read the ticket, and it said something about Full Puppet Nudity. For sure, that was in there! LOL
I was one of the most entertaining plays I've ever seen! I wasn't 100% sure what to expect, but I had a pretty good idea. I'd heard the soundtrack before, but hadn't seen the play itself.
I took the boy and the husband. You could hear us laughing throughout the theatre.
Before the play started, we went to where we wanted to sit. Since we were on the end of the row, we didn't want to sit down yet. I found some metal steps that lead to a catwalk, but the catwalk wasn't being used. Nice place to wait - except that everyone thought I was an usher!
I should have had a contact high too - I'd bet that 1/2 of the theatre was stoned! You could smell it throughout the whole theatre - a lovely waft of pot.
Made for an fun afternoon. :)

Superbowl XLVI
We just came home from watching the superbowl with family. we're a weird bunch - forget chicken wings and chips and dip. We had a chicken, mashed potatoes, etc. Very good! :)
Anyway - while not the most exciting game ever, the ending was nice and dramatic. I love the last minute hail mary, no matter how it comes out.
Brady did not have the greatest game - a bad grounding penalty to start the game, and then an interception. I have to wonder if that shoulder did play a part in the second half.
Eli Manning has struck again! In 2007, the Giants beat New England, who were unbeaten until the SuperBowl game.
About half way through the game the Husband said "This is looking like the game from 2007" - pretty prophetic words, don't you think?
Sooooo sorry to the evil one - I was hoping your team would win for you this time. I hope your blood pressure didn't go up too high and you don't have too many more grey hairs.
that's it for me - no deep analysis of the game.
__________

Avenue Q
No - it's not the one in New York. :)
It's an amateur production here in the city.
I don't care! I've heard the music and have wanted to go for a long time, but getting to NY was not an option.
I'll let you know how it was in my next post.

Mah Kitteh!!!
Yes, the spelling is atrocious, but I don't really care!
My Tabby has been sick since before Christmas. I noticed she was coughing like she had a hairball, but nothing was ever coming out, but when I took her to the vet - they didn't hear anything in her lungs, so I took her home and got rid of the scented litter.
A month later, back to the vet we go because she's not any better, and she's feeling "bony" to me when I pet her.
This time, we took an x-ray and when the vet came out, she looked so sad. We looked at the x-ray, and Tabby's lungs were white - and they should have been black. The vet said it might be an infection, or it could be cancer - but she's never seen an infection look like that...
I decided to try antibiotics, mainly because they were easy and it just might be an infection. To be honest, I wasn't expecting much and was just doing the antibiotics to prolong my time with Tabby.
A week later, back to the vet to see how she's doing. The vet comes out with a smile, and says "come look at the new x-ray" - and lo and behold, the white is less.
Have you ever tried to pill a cat??? now try it with one that's just over 7 pounds and as fast as a rabbit! fast forward to today - scratches from my mean ol' tabby and all.
A new x-ray shows that she's definitely getting better, and it was a horrendous infection. The vet is really happy - because she actually thought it was cancer and was humoring me with the antibiotics. (no, she didn't say that...but you could tell.)
2 more weeks of antibiotics, and she should be good to go.
Thank you to all of you who were thinking good thoughts for her.
______
to you, it's a cat. To me, it's a four-legged child with a speech impediment.

I'm back!!!!
Hidely Ho blog readers! :)
all two of you....
It's been a long, long road for me to get here. Luckily - you don't have to read a long, long blog post about it. I'll give the short version.
Last time I was here, we were moving. The move was uneventful, and fast! They had us moved in about 4 hours, and we had most of the place unpacked that night. We're efficient and hate having boxes around.
Our little home is now nice and cozy. While I wish we had more storage space, we're going to remedy that a little bit with some shelves.
Since our move, I've gone on anti-depressants, the husband has gotten a job and the boy is looking. The boy tried cooking school, but it just wasn't for him. He's more of a hobby cooker. He'll get a job for now, and probably go back to school in September. But if he gets a good job, he may delay it a year. That's up to him.
I'm on a much more even keel these days, and I'm hoping to blog more often. I find it very therapeutic, even though I'm whiny :)
